DANCE SEMINAR (taught by Ray Underwood)
19899 36th Ave Langley, B.C
Ray Underwood has over 30 years experience in dog training and is a two times North
American Canine Musical Freestyle Champion. He has been involved with Canine Musical
Freestyle for many years as both a participant and a judge and is a founder of MCSI, the
organization that freestyle has evolved from.
Ray is called upon regularly to demonstrate Canine Musical Freestyle skills and other canine
training techniques around the world. Ray is also an accomplished dancer that has
performed ballroom dancing at the national level. Since it is rare to find a canine freestyle
teacher that has both a dance and dog training background, this seminar with Ray is a rare
opportunity!!
So often, we spend all of our time training our dogs and forget the other half of the
partnership – ourselves! If the word “dance” is frightening to you, this is the seminar to calm
your fears! Ray will again teach the fundamentals of different dances as related to Canine
freestyle. His energy and creativity will help you understand the necessary keys to a polished
dance performance. So, pack up your dance shoes and prepare for a busy and enlightening
workshop!!

In 2006, Michele became involved in the sport of Canine Musical Freestyle
with English springer spaniel, “Cabo” and Australian Shepherd, “Listo”.
She thoroughly enjoys this artistic sport that combines obedience behaviors
with trick behaviors and challenges her creative side through music and
choreography. In 3 years in the sport, Michele has won 2 international competitions, and
attained 4 Championship Titles.
In 2008 she received the first double 10’s (perfect scores) for Technical and Artistic in one
routine in WCFO’s Championship division (Perfect Dance Partners); then repeated this
accomplishment at the 2009 International competition when all 3 judges awarded double 10’s
to her freestyle routine. Michele continues to enjoy the ongoing challenges in the sport of
canine freestyle and the use of Clicker Training to achieve innovative and entertaining
routines.

Training Attention and Attitude – The Foundation for Solid Performance
Cure the Lure - ensure any applied lures are tools instead of crutches

PRESENTATION SEMINAR (taught by Ray Underwood)
Cloverdale Fairgrounds, Cloverdale, B.C
Seminar Flyer - coming soon!
This seminar is still in the early planning stages. Handlers will each perform a routine with
their dog. Ray will critique the presentations and offer suggestions on what could be done to
give themselves more pizazz and polish! The focus will be on the Handlers’ performances
rather than the Dogs’. A fun BBQ will be held at the end of the day.
